Re:Think Play

 

A methodological approach into the investigation and benefits of design participation within the local community. Using case studies and co design to aid the research and outcome of a design brief of a local play park. This project responds to the crucial needs for outdoor play. Working with children to create furniture pieces in the summer of 2013 has truly inspired the essence behind this project. Support and collaboration was received from Magdalen Green Friends Dundee, Dundee City Council and a local architect firm. The main influences include co designing with children and young adults, historic elements within the Magdalen Green area to help educate children of their local region and teach them of the extraordinary historic site of the City of Dundee. The design of the play scape is evolving currently through the analysis of co design with a local Primary school and High school as well as consultations with the public.
