A temporary, site specific installation created in collaboration with Halley Stevensons Waxed Cotton to inspire a dynamic, new, artistic direction for their advertising and branding identity.

Project themes are viewpoints on Scottish identity and how this is influenced by our connection to the natural Scottish landscape. These themes are highly relevant to Halley Stevensons; proud of their Scottish heritage and based in Dundee, manufacturing at the Baltic works since 1864. Their waxed cotton material is traditionally, and still predominantly used, for outdoor pursuits, providing people with protection from the elements when exploring the rural landscape.

The spatial intervention was realised at a hut on the outskirts of Pitlochry, representing huts, cabins, bothies, scattered in remote locations in Scotland which symbolise human interaction with the environment.

Final graphics for advertising and branding purposes were created through photographic and film documentation of the structural intervention.
